Stories

Molly Wally Wella Wally and her mom went for walk in the neighborhood.
They were happy to see bees drinking nectar and collecting pollen from many different kinds of flowers.

There were bees on red flowers, bees on purple flowers
and bees on various kinds of
white flowers!

When the bees were in flight, it looked like they didn't have any wings,
because their wings would beat so fast!

At first, Molly Wally Wella Wally and her mom didn't spot a bee on a big yellow sunflower.

But then...

    they looked much closer.

But not too close !

Continuing on their walk, they noticed another bee feeding on the bottom of a pink bottlebrush flower.
Then they were surprised to see a little ladybug. It was sitting in the center of a star shaped leaf. It almost looked like the center of a flower.

Butterflies and moths were enjoying the warm sun while they ate nectar with their long tongues.

There was a bee with its backside sticking out of the middle of a flower. Molly laughed and said, "Mom did you see the cute little tushie on that bee?”

Suddenly, Molly caught sight of a tired bee lying on the hot cement!
She cried out, "Oh no, Mom! We've got to help it! Please!"
Molly Wally Wella Wally leaned down and whispered, "We will help you, little Beeheart. Hang in there.”
So her mom gently scooped
the bee up with a leaf…
placed it
on a soft cloth and carried it home.

When they got home, they dipped a cotton swab in water mixed with sugar and gave it to the bee.

The bee stretched out its long tongue and gratefully drank the sugar-water from the cotton tip.

After a while, the bee started to look better...but it still seemed tired. So    Molly made a bee bed with toilet paper and flowers inside a container.

The bee climbed right in and found a spot where it could sleep for a while.

The next morning, Molly and her mom were delighted to see the bee sitting on a purple flower. It must have felt better after a good night's sleep.

Soon, the bee walked over to the edge of the container,
climbed up onto another flower, and began to preen and clean itself off using its tongue and back legs.

This reminded Molly that she needed to wash her face and brush her teeth.

Before they even knew what was happening, the bee walked to the end of the flower…
and with buzzing wings, it flew up into the air!
Molly excitedly yelled, "Yay, Beeheart! Good Bee!”
Molly and her mom watched the bee as it passed nearby flowers that other bees were enjoying.

Molly Wally Wella Wally wasn't sure where it was going until it went straight up into
a big, beautiful magnolia tree flower! Magnolia flowers must be its favorite flower.

Molly hollered, "I love you, Beeheart!"

Molly took her mom's hand and said, "Can we go for a walk again today, Mommy?"

And off they went (even though Molly still hadn't washed her face or brushed her teeth. )

  Molly Wally Wella Wally's Name

The main character in this story is Molly Wally Wella Wally.
( Just for short they call her Molly.)

You may be wondering, "Why would anyone shorten
Molly Wally Wella Wally, when it's so fun to say?"

Well,
partly because Molly Wally Wella Wally is a VERY long
first name!
It also happens to take up a lot of space when
writing or typing it out. Sometimes it's just easier to write or say Molly, which is an adorable name all on its own!

Her mom sometimes likes to call her Molly because it's very endearing.

Molly Wally Wella Wally, is also a bit of a tongue twister.

You could get very good at saying it by playing this funny game:

You say, "Molly Wally Wella Wally, Molly Wally Wella Wally, Molly Wally Wella Wally"
over and over again until you can go faster and faster.

It's a hoot and usually ends in laughter.
